Prior to joining Keller Williams, D.H. worked for Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment as the general manager of Liberty University Athletics Sponsorships. He has worked in marketing and advertising the majority of his career, including the local sales manager for ABC 13, WSET, as well as the sales manager for the Lynchburg News And Advance in Lynchburg Virginia. He is from the Lynchburg area and has lived the majority of his life there. He is a 1987 graduate of Wake Forest University.
D.H. also has served on various boards in Lynchburg that include the Bedford Chamber of Commerce, the New Business Development Center for the City of Lynchburg, and the Lynchburg Tennis Patrons Association, which helps maintain and fund tennis programs for economically disadvantaged youth in the Lynchburg area.
D.H. is married to his wife of thirty-five years, Stacy B. Powell, who is also a realtor with Keller Williams and President of the Powell Property Network, Inc., with whom he co-founded. He is the father of two sons, Tripp Powell, and Jackson Powell.
